Who We Are
West Glamorgan Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse Ltd (Port Talbot)
is a Voluntary Sector Agency, specialising in delivering a service
to substance misusers.
We operate a Harm Reduction Service throughout the County Borough
of Neath and Port Talbot, and service users can access us through
our Port Talbot Project, or one of our satellite clinics based in
Ystalyfera, Glynneath and Croeserw.
Our aim is to help service users to achieve their goals.
Our Agency is commissioned:
Iechydd Morganwg Health, Neath & Port Talbot Social Services,
and The National Probation Service.
We offer the following services:
- Assessment (Including Prescriptive Assessment)
- 1-1 intervention
- Education, support and advice
- Needle Exchange*
(* Provision of clean injecting equipment and advice on safer injecting
practices to aid prevention of blood borne viruses.)
- Pregnancy Support
- Liaison with other professionals.
We accept referrals from:
- GP's
- Probation
- Social Services
- Voluntary Organisations
- CDAT
- Self-Referrals
- Hospitals
- Solicitors
- Families and Friends
We can also refer to other services e.g:
- Consultant Psychiatrists
- CDAT
- Detoxification
- PSALT Scheme
Our Team:
The Staff work closely together and consist of a Project Manager,
Professional Project Workers, Administration Officers and Volunteers.
All the staff have undergone extensive training in supporting those
affected by drugs and alcohol and have skills in various disciplines
linked to substance misuse, including:

- Offending Behaviour
- Abstinence
- Prescribing issues
- Relapse Prevention
- Mental Health
- Housing
- Detoxification
- Young People
- Pregnancy
