Volunteers have provided an invaluable service to WGCADA since the beginning. Certainly WGCADA relied heavily on volunteers in the early days and it is probably true to say would not be in the position it is today without the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. Volunteers have been involved in all aspects of our work including fundraising, answering the phones, running groups and providing one to one support. Many of our paid staff started off volunteering for us, and others have remained volunteers and friends to WGCADA for many, many years.
As times have changed the process for selecting, training and supporting our volunteers has evolved. We now have a ten week, thirty hour, volunteer training programme so that both potential volunteers and WGCADA can benefit from a trained and knowledgeable volunteer team. Volunteers then have ongoing opportunities for further training and development and are provided with regular professional supervision.
