WGCADA has along term partnership agreement with the National Probation
Service of England and Wales and provides a range of assessment
and treatment interventions for offenders.
The full range of WGCADA's treatment menus are available to Probation
Clients and are accessed through referral and assessment in the
regions that our offices cover.
At present we provide facilities to the Probation Service Offices
at Swansea and Bridgend and in the Neath and Port Talbot area. In
addition we have a joint abstinence/harm reduction assessment and
referral intervention facility at Cardiff and The Vale of Glamorgan
offices in Westgate Street in the City of Cardiff.
In partnership with the Probation Service our aims are to help
offenders:
- reduce harmful patterns of drug and alcohol use
- reduce offending behaviour
- reduce risks to communities and individuals
- improve physical health
- improve individuals sense of well being
- improve social functioning
- reduce demands on health, Social and Criminal Justice Services
