European Funded Projects

National Peer Mentoring Scheme

The Peer Mentoring Project is a new support initiative funded by the European Social Fund and the Welsh Assembly Government aimed at providing individualised additional support for anyone who has ever been affected by substance misuse themselves or the substance misuse of a family member. The project will work with those who would like help and support to gain new skills, develop existing ones or to get into employment. Peer Mentoring Teams can work with a variety of organisations to provide extra support, help people remain engaged in treatment and move on from drug and alcohol problems.

The scheme will focus on individual gaining economic independence achieving sustainable positive results for individuals, communities and as a result, the Welsh economy.

We currently provide this service across the Neath Port Talbot, Swansea and Bridgend areas. There are currently 14 members of staff employed to deliver this service and it is our aim to bring people through so that they in turn can mentor others.

Coastal DOMINO

We were fortunate enough to procure European Funding in August 2009 to deliver enhanced DOMINO activities for service users and their families. This is a joint service with Swansea Drugs Project in the City and County of Swansea to engage people between the ages of 16 and 64 in the learning experience, gaining new skills and improving prospects for the future.
