Confidentiality
The West Glamorgan Council on Alcohol And Drug Abuse Ltd is committed to providing a confidential service.
However, there are certain circumstances when confidentiality can be broken unless in exceptional circumstances, WGCADA will make all attempts to inform you if they have to break confidentiality.
These are:
- SUBPOENA: By a Court of Law. If so ordered the agency must supply information to a Court. Information is not offered to the Criminal Justice System unless there is an agreement with the Service User to do so, or if there is an order from the Court.
- RISK OF HARM: If we believe there is a real or significant risk of harm to yourself or others.
- CHILD PROTECTION: The Children Act 1989 puts a child's’ welfare as paramount. Confidentiality will be broken if there is a risk of harm or neglect to a child or children.
